Author Visit Information:

For middle and high schools, I will do writing workshops or talk about a specific book which the students must have read.

I have a PowerPoint presentation for This Means War! which is most appropriate for fourth through sixth graders. The presentation includes both my own photos from that time and pictures of “duck and cover” drills and fallout shelters. I will also read a few selections from the book and answer questions. Students should have read the book beforehand. A full discussion guide for the book is available hereThis Means War! is available in hardcover from Simon and Schuster, paper through the Scholastic Book Club and Fairs.

I do only a limited number of school visits. If you’re interested, please email me to discuss rates and other specifics. I will also do Skype visits, 30-40 minutes for $200. OR, if you buy a classroom set of one of my books and your students read it, I’m happy to do a 30 minute pro bono Skype with you.

Conferences:

I have keynoted both library conferences and SCBWI conferences and am happy to gear a speech to the needs of the group.
